This innovation addresses the lack of integrated educational tools for the SEGAK Fitness Test in Malaysian schools. Existing resources for Physical Education (PE) lack key features like step-by-step instructions, interactive videos, and a digitized system for accurate performance tracking, which often leads to inconsistent data and disengaged students. The Active Fun Play innovation was developed to provide an engaging and holistic solution to these challenges. The prototype consists of two core components: a Multi-Digital Counter (MDC) device and the "Fun with Exercises and Games for Children" book (2nd Edition). The MDC device automates the recording of push-ups, sit-ups, and sit-and-reach repetitions, storing data for long-term monitoring. This feature significantly reduces a teacher’s workload and improves data accuracy, while providing students with instant, visual feedback on their progress, which boosts motivation and achievement. The accompanying book, designed for children in Years 4, 5, and 6, makes learning about health-related fitness enjoyable through vibrant illustrations, interactive quizzes, and embedded videos. It also introduces nutrition concepts through an educational Roblox game called Munch Madness. Field trials at multiple primary schools demonstrated a significant improvement in SEGAK fitness test performance after a 12-week intervention. Similarly, preschool participants showed an enhanced understanding of nutrition. The innovation has been successfully disseminated to over 120 teachers across 110 schools in Malaysia, receiving recognition from international experts. With its high impact, low cost, and large market potential, the Active Fun Play innovation offers a powerful, engaging, and measurable solution for improving health and fitness education in Malaysian schools.
