ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the use of ChatGPT in constructing rich rhyme poems as a supplementary tool for English vocabulary enhancement at the tertiary level. The study examines how AI-generated poetry, characterized by structured rhyme schemes and diverse lexical choices, can support vocabulary development in a creative and context-rich manner. Through guided interaction with ChatGPT, university students engage in the co-creation of poems, promoting active learning and exposure to new words, idiomatic expressions, and stylistic variations. The research highlights the pedagogical value of rhyme-based learning, supported by AI, in fostering deeper lexical understanding, retention, and motivation among English language learners. Findings suggest that integrating AI into language instruction offers an effective and engaging approach to vocabulary acquisition in higher education contexts.
