LifeLert is an innovative safety device designed to prevent the tragic deaths and injuries of
children, pets, and vulnerable individuals left unattended in parked vehicles. This is a serious
issue in hot climates like Malaysia, where cabin temperatures can rise to dangerous levels within
minutes. The system combines a compact sensor unit with a smartphone application to detect
movement, temperature rise, or weight inside the vehicle after the engine is turned off. When a
potential hazard is detected, LifeLert immediately sends alerts to the owner’s phone, triggers a
loud in-car alarm to attract public attention, and can automatically notify pre-set emergency
contacts if no action is taken. Unlike conventional solutions that require costly vehicle
modifications, LifeLert is affordable, portable, and compatible with most vehicles. Installation is
simple, leveraging existing smartphone technology to minimise cost while maximising
accessibility. Its modular design allows integration with future smart vehicle systems or
deployment as an aftermarket kit. LifeLert’s potential user base includes parents, pet owners,
schools, ride-hailing operators, and caregivers, making it highly scalable across different
communities. Beyond its core function, the system serves as a public awareness tool to promote
responsible vehicle safety practices, encouraging behavioural change alongside technological
prevention. By offering a practical, cost-effective, and life-saving solution, LifeLert addresses a
preventable global problem with significant social impact. Its combination of affordability, ease of
use, and adaptability positions it as a valuable innovation for both local and international markets,
with strong potential for partnership with automotive manufacturers, safety agencies, and NGOs.
