ABSTRACT

In higher education, effective assessment strategies are essential for supporting meaningful learning and developing students’ critical thinking skills. This poster presents a new approach to student assessment using Canva’s interactive features, allowing educators to design and deliver engaging online quizzes tailored for university learners. While Canva is widely known for graphic design, its interactive tools now help teachers create quizzes that provide real-time feedback, support self-paced learning, and include multimedia question formats.

This innovation meets the rising need for flexible, student-focused assessment methods that match the digital skills of today’s university students. With Canva’s simple and user-friendly interface, lecturers can build visually attractive and gamified quizzes that encourage active participation, quick knowledge checks, and even teamwork—whether in face-to-face classes or online. Real classroom experiences show that these interactive quizzes are easy to use and help increase both student motivation and accessibility to assessments.

This presentation shares examples of quiz designs, practical tips for implementation, and feedback from students and lecturers. Early results reveal improved engagement, easier access for all learners, and higher enthusiasm across different study fields. This project demonstrates Canva’s potential as a practical educational tool for colleges and universities, supporting both formative and summative assessments in a modern, digital way. It encourages educators to move beyond traditional tests and try more interactive, student-friendly solutions for assessment.
