Abstract for Project
The growing emphasis on 21st-century competencies in higher education calls for transformative approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. This conceptual paper presents digital storytelling through Eduglogster as a pedagogical innovation to enhance case study assessments, particularly in fostering student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking. Eduglogster, an interactive multimedia platform, empowers learners to construct visual narratives using text, images, audio, and video, enabling them to represent complex scenarios in more meaningful and expressive ways. Grounded in constructivist and multimodal learning theories, this approach shifts assessment from traditional written formats toward more dynamic, student-centered expression, integrating both cognitive and creative dimensions of learning. The paper outlines a conceptual framework for implementing this method, discusses its alignment with the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF), and explores how it supports multiple domains including communication, digital literacy, and problem-solving. By bridging technology, storytelling, and pedagogy, this approach contributes to advances in educational practice and offers rich potential within the broader context of humanities and arts in education. Implications for instructional design and future research are also addressed, positioning digital storytelling as a viable pathway for reimagining assessment in tertiary education.
