Over the past two decades, the growth of the Islamic tourism industry has attracted great attention among researchers. The rise of Muslim travellers in the world indirectly contributed to the rise of halal-based tourism demand. With the industry worth a million dollars worldwide, it will become an advantage for the country to meet the Muslim traveller's needs and expectations. Despite the high amount generated in the industry, there are a few problems that require the attention of stakeholders to contribute to a continuous revenue increment. Among the common problems faced by Muslim tourist when travelling is language barriers or the inability to communicate their needs. This issue can lead to more serious circumstances, such as anxiety towards unfamiliar situations and fear of getting lost. Due to this, there is a profound need for assistance to make travelling life easier and efficient. Taking all these problems into consideration, researchers have come up with an idea of creating a pocket dictionary related to the Mandarin language. This pocket dictionary will function as a Muslim tourist Mandarin pocket dictionary. Objectively, it focuses on overcoming the language barriers for effective communication and helps Muslim travellers to convey their expectations and needs in a foreign country like China. It is hoped that this innovation of a pocket dictionary will help solve the common issues faced by Muslim tourist and make their travel comfortable and memorable.
