WacanaXcel is an innovative research tool developed to facilitate systematic language and discourse analysis using a Microsoft Excel template. Designed for accessibility and cost-effectiveness, it enables researchers to analyse written texts such as political manifestos without the need for specialised linguistic software or programming skills. The analytical framework is divided into two main components: Textual Analysis and Discourse Analysis. The Textual Analysis covers sentence openers, elaboration types, modality, processes, process types, sentence types, and theme types, while the Discourse Analysis focuses on intertextuality and core paragraph ideas.
