This project develops an IoT enabled portable fume extractor to improve air quality and safety in welding workshops, with emphasis on educational facilities such as Institut Kemahiran MARA Johor Bahru. Welding produces hazardous gases including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxides which pose serious health risks with prolonged exposure. The system uses an ESP32 WROOM 32 microcontroller and air quality sensors to detect and monitor harmful gases in real time, transmitting data to a mobile application for alerts and logging. A multi stage filtration system removes particulates, odours, and gases, while the compact portable design allows flexible use across welding stations.
