TRB125: Leadership Support Feedback Loop (LSFL) Mechanism

Nadiatul Akma Rosle Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia

Research conducted among female employees in Malaysia’s Klang Valley has revealed that supportive leadership is essential for boosting workplace performance, well-being and satisfaction. Despite this, organisations have not implemented effective and sustained mechanisms for evaluating and enhancing leadership support, especially regarding the dual pressure female employees confront in managing work-family responsibilities and in navigating gendered workplace stressors. They often fail to provide structured, ongoing feedback systems that enable real-time adjustments in leadership behaviors to support female employees effectively. In response, Leadership Support Feedback Loop (LSFL) mechanism is designed to create a continuous feedback loop for anonymous evaluation of leadership support and foster a more inclusive, empathetic leadership culture addressing women’s specific workplace needs. The LSFL mechanism comprise of four key components which are (1) a 360-degree feedback system with regular anonymous surveys evaluating leadership supportiveness; (2) AI-driven analytics providing real-time dashboards and behavioral recommendations; (3) personalized coaching and training targeting empathy, active listening, and inclusivity; and (4) continuous improvement cycles tracking leadership progress over time. The mechanism empowers female employees through safe feedback channels, strengthens organizational culture through data-driven leadership development, improves mental health outcomes by reducing workplace stress, and advances gender equality by ensuring leadership responsiveness to women's unique challenges. The project employs scalable survey instruments and AI analytics with minimal overhead, integrates with existing HR platforms, and delivers high ROI through improved retention and productivity, while providing cost-effective continuous leadership development. Commercialization opportunities exist through subscription-based models for organisations, partnerships with HR software providers, consultancy services, and global expansion potential, as the growing recognition of supportive leadership importance creates substantial demand for specialized leadership coaching programs targeting gender-inclusive practices.
