TS. Dr. Mohd Firdaus Bin Mahamad Ali UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA KELANTAN

The C-FlatFit 3D Insole represents a cutting-edge innovation in pediatric orthotic care, developed specifically to support children with flatfoot— a condition marked by the flattening of the medial longitudinal arch. Although often physiological and self-correcting, pediatric flatfoot can cause discomfort and spark concern among parents. Traditional custom insoles, while clinically effective, are typically expensive, labor-intensive, and slow to produce. This study introduces the C-FlatFit 3D Insole, a cost-effective, rapidly producible, and highly personalized solution made using advanced 3D printing and PolyFlex™ TPU95 filament a thermoplastic polyurethane known for its excellent flexibility, durability, and comfort. With a Shore hardness of 95A, and the ability to stretch over three times its original length, this material offers the right balance of support and cushioning ideal for growing feet. Biomechanical analyses demonstrated that the performance of the C-FlatFit 3D Insole is comparable to that of traditional custom orthotics, with additional benefits such as reduced production cost, faster prototyping, and broader accessibility. By merging smart material selection with digital manufacturing, this insole not only improves mobility and comfort for children, but also provides peace of mind for parents marking a new milestone in accessible pediatric foot care.
