Abstract for Project
This project introduces SPEAKIT, a text-to-speech (TTS) scanner application designed to support literacy development, particularly for children aged 5 to 8 and individuals with dyslexia. Inspired by the success of existing TTS tools such as Speechify, NaturalReader, and Reading Rockets, SPEAKIT aims to integrate their standout features—such as interactive elements, adjustable reading speeds, and pronunciation controls—into a single, user-friendly platform. The primary goal is to create an inclusive and engaging tool that nurtures a love for reading and writing while addressing common challenges in pronunciation and reading fluency. The development process will involve careful planning, user-focused design, thorough testing, and continuous improvement to ensure the app effectively meets the diverse learning needs of its users. Through this innovation, the project aspires to advance educational technology by promoting accessibility and enhancing literacy experiences for all learners.
