ABSTRACT
As digital products increasingly shape everyday interactions, the ability to evaluate user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design is essential for ensuring usability, accessibility, and inclusivity. Yet many novice developers, students, and freelance designers lack the tools and expertise to do this effectively. Winterface is an innovative AI-assisted web tool that addresses this gap by translating expert-level design heuristics into automated, guided, and beginner-friendly evaluation. Unlike conventional tools that assess only isolated factors, Winterface integrates seven core dimensions, layout precision, typography, color harmony, responsiveness, accessibility, broken links, and SEO structure, into a unified system. Winterface uses rule-based logic, such as spacing, alignment, and contrast checks based on WCAG standards, while lightweight AI components like NLP techniques are employed to score text readability based on sentence complexity, while additional checks assess font choices for legibility. Users input a link or code, and the system parses HTML/CSS, evaluates heuristics, and returns annotated feedback with actionable suggestions. Rather than assigning opaque scores, Winterface explains issues in context to promote design literacy and confidence. Operated under a freemium model, it is suited for classrooms, bootcamps, prototyping teams, and small businesses seeking affordable design guidance. By bridging AI, usability standards, and inclusive design education, Winterface empowers underrepresented practitioners and fosters the creation of more accessible, user-centered digital products.
